  Eating there once with a guest who knew the restaurant owner was a treat.
  The portions are unbelievably huge and the food is pretty good too. As the name of the restaurant outlines, they are indeed experts at making Schnitzel. On most dishes, you get 2 or 3 of these schnitzels and they will be all you will be able to eat for at least 2 days, unless you share of course. on top of the meat, you will have a healthy serving of sides, including a mini salad, a healthy helping of spaetzel (fresh pasta-like side). It is almost preferable to share the meal and pay the split fee as you will end up paying less and feel just as full.
  The food portions are huge, and the price tag matches the portions, however that being said, the value and quality of the food make it well worth your while.
  The service is professional and efficient, but you will be waiting a bit for your food.
  I will return to this restaurant for any occasions involving a large appetite or a romantic dinner for 2.

  Completely overwhelmed with the stench, of what I can only assume was the seafood the second I walked into the restaurant! Not to mention, astonished by the very limited and extremely overpriced menu! By all means,... take your date there, if you are trying to prove that you have way too much money, but are completely ignorant of quality dining! If she ever allows you to take her back there, she's only after one thing! "Your inheritance"! Because you obviously don't work for the money you have! There's many other better restaurants within one block, KEEP DRIVING!

  Best food I've had in Cranbrook since I got here 3 weeks ago. Ordered the Jaeger Schnitzel and it was really good. I caution those who are attending for the first time like myself. Unless you're hungry, get the half order of Schnitzel. Enormous portions. As a fair sized guy, I made it through half of full order. Would come here again.

  Seemed to be better in the past or perhaps I just being nostalgic. The buffet is a line up of STEWED items soaking in a variety of sauces and that's the only thing stopping the overcooked food from sticking in your throat. Not very appealing for the price. Ambiance and service was great so I tipped fairly but not because of the food. We have also ordered off of the menu with pretty good success but the prime rib tastes bland and steamed (or boiled) and not roasted. Cooked in too much water I think. They used to include a yorkshire pudding but now you have to ask for one for a fee. At those prices, it seems like they've been cutting too many corners and the menu prices keep rising we've noticed exponentially. You can order a glass of wine for the price of a bottle so you decide if it's worth it. By the way, YOU"RE NOT OPEN MONDAYS LIKE THE SITE SAYS. Twice I've been screwed up by that and one time I met another couple from Alberta in the parking lot who found out the hard way too and had to make alternate plans.

  Frank's was delicious. The spetzle wasn't that phenomenal but I think maybe I just don't really like spetzle that much. I ordered the crab and lobster and the lobster was amazing. The crab was really good too but it was really cold. I notified the waitress of this and she had the problem fixed right away. The service was pretty slow (maybe because it was crab and lobster) but they kept us occupied with their delicious bread sticks. The bratwurst is really really good the sauerkraut that comes with it is just as amazing. We had an awesome German waitress who knew her stuff and the menu like the back of her hand. We had a great time at franks and if were ever stuck in cranbrook again you can bet we will be back.
